The 6000 sq ft Stephen F Austin Royal Sonesta Hotel is one of the two historical hotels near Congress St and landmark in Austin Downtown. Home of the famous Roaring Fork restaurant, the historic boutique hotel lets its’ guests immerse themselves in Austin’s charm. Their love of art comes to life with the historic Art Deco facade and internal decor. Wurzel Builders were able to rebuild the iconic facade from the original photo dated back to the 1880’s and the original blueprints found in the 1920s for the interior. During the demolition process, we were able to discover artifacts from the former days of the space as an optometrist store including eye glasses.
